For my first ever Throwback Thursday (#tbt) post, I wanted to reflect back on my 2014 session with the Fisher family. This session just makes me so happy for so many reasons.
1) Taylor and I were college roommates first and we grew to be great friends. We were then co-workers for nearly 3 years before a new career path moved her and her family to North Carolina. At first I was selfishly sad (okay, who am I kidding, I am still sad they live so far away) but I am grateful at how close we have remained even with all of the distance. I might even argue we are closer now than ever! (And, as a bonus for me, now I have an excuse to get out and visit NC!)
2) The Fishers were my FIRST. EVER. CLIENTS! How cool is that? Waaaaay back in 2011, I had just barely had my camera for a few months when I asked Taylor and Andy to model for me so I could practice. I am certain I fumbled through it, and I know that my editing at the time was quite interesting (hence why I am not sharing those images with you now), but through it all, the Fishers have always been so supportive of me and have encouraged me 100%. (Thanks guys!)
3) Shooting in new locations always is a challenge, but also so inspiring for the creative spirit. I LOVE the beach, I LOVE the ocean, and so this session was so good for my soul. I enjoyed letting them play - nothing was forced and everything just felt right. It was certainly everything I needed and more in a session.
Enjoy this travel back in time. This sweet family has grown by one since this session, and I just love them all so much!
