Winter Wonderland Engagement Session in Winter Park Colorado (Taylor + Reid)

As summer is knocking on our door, I can't let any more time escape without sharing this beautiful winter engagement session in Winter Park, Colorado. All I can say is YAY for feet and feet of snow! (If you know me, you are probably wondering what has happened....because I normally poo-poo snow.) BUT, it's hard not to love snow when you have a session like this!

I have known Taylor for many years. We were college basketball teammates, and it's true what they say, your teammates become friends for life. I consider all of my former teammates like family, and to this day would do anything for any of them. So I was extremely honored when Taylor contacted me about documenting her and Reid's love story.

Taylor and Reid went to the same high school, but not at the same time. It wasn't until Reid's friend Nick (and groomsman) started working with Taylor's mom that the connection was made. You see, Taylor's mom had her back. She was always asking Nick "Do you have any tall, single, really cool and handsome friends for my daughter Taylor?" Well finally someone came to mind. Reid. A blind date was scheduled, and well as they say, the rest is history!

Reid proposed to Taylor.....not once but twice! He had the perfect plan to propose on the 4th of July, but several issues with the jeweler delayed his ability to propose for nearly two weeks. When it was clear that the jeweler wasn't going to come through by July 15, Reid formulated a new plan. He went to TJ Maxx and found the biggest C.Z rock he could find and on the night of the 15th, asked Taylor for her hand in marriage in their new home with a fake ring! To this day they still laugh about it. To surprise Taylor again, he misled her about when her ring would be ready, and a week later, before a lunch date, Reid confronted Taylor with a second proposal, this time telling her that not many people get a second chance to declare if they want to spend the rest of their life with someone. So true!

I think my favorite thing about them is how comfortable they are with one another. Reid is such a gentleman, and you can just see the adoration he has for Taylor. And Taylor exudes happiness when she is with Reid. It is quite clear this wedding is going to be an epic start to a wonderful marriage.

Downtown Denver Union Station Engagement Session {Josh + Whitney}

When it comes to planning a wedding, I think most brides would agree that the planning stress stems from the hundreds of decisions you have to make from the millions of options to choose from. Hands down. Thankfully, Whitney and Josh are really good at making decisions. Thorough, yet quick and very little waffling. After our initial consultation, I knew these two were going to be a lot of fun to work with. Easy-going, excited about their wedding day, but all stress-free. My kind of people.

For their engagement session, we decided to begin at the beautiful Union Station, cross the Millennium pedestrian bridge, and finish at Confluence Park in downtown Denver. It was a beautiful day, and I had an absolute blast with these two!

Downtown Denver Engagement Session - Felicia + Eric

Happy Monday! I have another BEAUTIFUL engagement session for you to enjoy!

I adore these two. And my adoration for them began back in December of 2015, when Eric contacted me about photographing his proposal to Felicia. I squealed with delight, and could not WAIT until we met on top of Lookout Mountain in Golden and he asked her to marry him.

Yeah...it was pretty epic. {Oh and that diamond is from our trusted friend at The Diamond Reserve in Cherry Creek. Stunning!}

Okay so then fast forward to April and I once again was so honored when Felicia and Eric contacted me to ask if I would continue documenting their journey through their wedding day. Naturally, again, another squeal of delight! First up - their engagement session.

Eric and Felicia chose to have their engagement session around downtown Denver and let me tell you, Denver did not disappoint. We started their session at the beautifully renovated Union Station, danced our way through Larimer Square for a stop at The Market {where they had their first date} and ended fashionably at Civic Center Park just as the sun set. The afternoon was magical, and of course Eric and Felicia dressed to impress! {Styling trick from Miss Felicia - she rented each of these dresses from Rent the Runway!}

I cannot wait for their wedding in 2018 and as always, please be sure to leave the soon-to-be Mr. + Mrs. a note below!

Daniels Park Winter Engagement Session {Daniel + Kaelyn}

It's been almost a year since these photos have been taken {can you believe it....a year!!} So in honor of the weather here in Denver today, I wanted to share with you Daniel + Kaelyn's snowy engagement session. (And, might I add, cheers to starting one of my 2017 goals 24 days early!)

I have known Daniel since elementary school. We grew up in the same city, and our families have been friends for as long as I can remember. It wasn't until about 5 years ago that I met sweet Kaelyn for the first time. Her spunky personality fit right in with the Gilbert family, so it was no surprise when a few years later, while on vacation in Palm Springs, Daniel popped the question. Kaelyn has been Daniel's rock through some very trying times, and Daniel has been a source of light and laughter for Kaelyn, and together they support and love one another wholeheartedly and unconditionally.

Stay tuned for their classic July wedding featured on the blog soon!
